Working Class Heroes. Climate storytelling beyond the stereotype

Does climate change have a class accent? Not in reality, but too often in the media, it’s portrayed as a stereotypical middle-class concern

This session brings together storytellers who are reshaping the face of climate action.

The stakes are clear: if climate remains a middle-class project, it will struggle to secure a broad mandate. If it is grounded in the realities of everyday life across all communities, it stands a chance of becoming a shared adventure.

Speakers include:

  • Solitaire Townsend, Chief Solutionist at Futerra

  • Angela Francis, Director of Policy Solutions at WWF

  • Gina Lyons, Comedian Producer at Gobby Girl Productions

  • David Macpherson, Writer & Showrunner of Amazon Prime Video UK's 'green gothic' action thriller 'The Rig'.

  • Fehinti Balogun, Actor and climate activist
